Apparently, there is a real desire to have a Hill Climb in the Metro area. So much, in fact, that you guys just keep hitting me with all these crazy and wonderful ideas. Well, we can’t just let them go unheard now, can we?
Pleasant Street KOM will now be a ‘Match Sprint’ event as opposed to the traditional ITT. No more timing, no more calculating, just a good old-fashioned brawl. Start at the bottom (with your counterparts) and finish at the top. First there wins. Easy.
With this change, however, comes some other stipulations. In the interest of keeping this from taking up the whole day, we have to limit the amount of entries. There will be 36 racers in total, but 18 have already reserved their spots. This means 18 spaces are left to be filled. To keep this fair, it’s a first come first serve basis. Shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and reserve your spot. If you’d be so kind, serious entries only.
The race will go as such. Nine rounds of four racers will kick it off. The nine that win will go on. Then we do Three up with the final three winners facing off in the final climb. 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Should be fun. There will still be a prize for best pain face and there’s still that unannounced prize. That’s going to be a fun one.
It’s amazing to see all this positive energy directed towards this event, and so we’re holding it again in the Fall. If you miss this time, we’ll have more spots and a better idea of what to expect next time. If you don’t race, why not come out and watch? It’s going to be a blast, I can say that much.
Fire up those GMail accounts, racers.
NOTICE: As of 9:08 PM on Thursday we have our 36. Thanks for all the positive vibes guys!
